BIG walking event is being held next weekend, February 13-16 in Perdido Key …… President’s Weekend Volksmarch.
This is NOT a race but walking at one’s own pace. The distances of the walks are either 10K (6.2 miles) or 5K (3.1 miles) but if someone can only go a mile, so be it. We just want to encourage volksmarching/walking for Fun, Fitness and Fellowship ! The volksmarches/walks are free unless one wants to keep a record of their walks in a volksmarch book and then that fee would be $3 per volksmarch/walk.

Start/Finish: Perdido Bay Golf Club & Lodging, 1 Doug Ford Drive, Cottage 9, Pensacola, FL.
Start Time: Fri, Sat & Sun – 7:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Finish Time: 4:00 p.m.
Start Time: Mon – 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Finish Time: 12:00 p.m.
Distance & Trail Rating: Walks are 10K and 5K. Six walks are rated 1A and 1 walk is rated 1C. Walks are in residential areas; some along roads with some sidewalks; 3 walks include beach. Leashed pets are not allowed on beaches. Some walks are short drive to START.
Strollers, allowed on walks 1-2; wheelchairs on walks 1-2 and pets on walks 1, 2, 3 and 5.
NOTE: There is a $3 per person entrance fee at Park gate at Johnson Beach. Golden Eagle or Golden Pass are accepted.
Cost: Credit Only: $3.00 per walk; Walk Only: Free
Directions: From Pensacola, take Hwy 98 West to Blue Angel Parkway. Turn left or south. Drive to WalMart and Sorrento Rd. is on the right. Drive on Sorrento then turn right on Doug Ford Drive (look for Perdido Bay Golf & Lodging sign). Take 1st left after passing the nature trail entrance; cottages will be on the left.
From I-10 West, take Exit 7 (NAS Pensacola/Pine Forest Rd.) Turn left on Pine Forest Road. Turn right on Blue Angel Parkway. Turn right on Sorrento Road. Turn right on Doug Ford Drive (look for Perdido Bay Golf & Lodging sign). Take the 1st left after passing the nature trail entrance; cottages will be on the left.
