Recommends that customers use brown compostable paper yard waste bags or reusable plastic cans designated for yard waste — this will allow ECUA to compost the yard waste. The plastic bags are NOT compostable and your yard waste will instead take up landfill space and cost more. But the compost that ECUA creates will be available to the community.
You can even use paper grocery bags or you can purchase the paper yard waste bags from many sources (Ace, Home Depot, etc.)
Brown is the new Green. Thank you to the neighbors who have already figured this out — love those big brown bags of yard clippings!
