Library events – authors and book sale



Award-winning author Liz Coursen from Sarasota will present her book, ‘Having Fun, Wish You Were Here! An Illustrated History of the Postcard in Florida’.  Ms. Coursen presents a vibrant Power Point program using museum-quality vintage postcard images to show Florida’s dynamic growth in the first half of the 20th century.  This is organized in conjunction with the Viva Florida 500 celebration.

The program is Wednesday, January 29th at 6:00 pm at The Southwest Branch Library, 12248 Gulf Beach Hwy, and is sponsored by The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library.  Seating is limited.  For information contact the library @ 8504537780 or visit   Southwest Branch Library hours are Monday to Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.

Pensacola Authors & Book Sale at Southwest Branch Library!

Friends of the Southwest Branch Library will be hosting 3 Pensacola authors who will sign their books during the second day of The Friends’ Special Book Sale on Saturday, February 15 from 10am to 2pm.

Deana Kahiapo’s ‘Dreams’ is both mysterious and dramatic, a little bit of teen romance surrounded by the reality of high school, with some baseball players and a hint of supernatural powers.  This will be Deana’s second visit to Southwest. See her flyer above.

Mary Riesberg is an inspirational speaker, author, Christian Life Coach and certified Leadership Coach with John C. Maxwell.  Mary’s book, ‘God, Me, and My Hula-Hoop: Finding Balance and Momentum in Your Walk with Christ’,will take you on a journey to find the balance you  need to live a Christian life.  Visit  See Mary’s flyer above.

Charlie Cain-Tolbirt is the number one self-published inspiration author in the country.  Her book ‘Words of Wisdom’ is a compilation of inspirational quotes, poetic thoughts, and words of wisdom and encouragement based upon her childhood of poverty.  Writing was her means of therapy for self-healing.  She is in the process of completing her follow up to ‘Words of Wisdom’, titled ‘Children In The Woods’.  For information on Charlie visit  See Charlie’s bio above.
