Wild Day of Fun!!!
Saturday, December 1, 2012 from noon till 3:30PM the Wildlife Sanctuary of Northwest Florida will be the WILD place to be! The Holiday Open house, the Give a Hoot Supply Drive and WILDfest will be joined together to celebrate 30 years, with live music from Sweet Prospect Celtic band while raptors and their handlers roam the Sanctuary grounds. Tour and visit while snacking on tasty treats from our hot dog concessions and bake sale / fresh local honey booth including goodies from Edible Arrangements! You won’t want to miss the most popular areas: the children’s wildlife games and crafts, kid’s story time and book giveaway, the pelican feeding station our gift shop and the presentations of our birds of Prey. WILDfest 30th Anniversary tee shirts feature a design by Patricia Macks of an American Bald Eagle.
You won’t want to miss this Wild day of family fun! See the displays from Escambia Sea Grant Extension/RHEC, Santa Rosa County Sea Grant Extension and Dee Dee Green – Recycling Coordinator, Escambia County. Bring the family, bring your friends, bring your neighbors, bring your cameras and most of all…..show your support as you help the Wildlife Sanctuary continue caring for injured and orphaned wildlife.
Give A Hoot Supply Drive Items: venison/red meat, fresh or frozen fish, tissues, liquid laundry soap, fresh fruit and veggies, science diet kitten or puppy growth, Cheerios, peanut butter, suet, pecans or peanuts shelled or unshelled, sunflower seeds, baby blankets, latex or vinyl gloves, Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and Renfroe Pecan Co. gift cards, first class stamps and monetary gifts are welcome.
