UNITED WAY DAY OF CARING AT SOUTHWEST BRANCH LIBRARY
Southwest Branch Library Manager Melanie Skaggs welcomed the Central Credit Union and Pensacola Naval Hospital Medics to her library today for the United Way’s Day of Caring. Volunteers from these groups put their working hats on and contributed to some much needed tasks. This was especially appreciated since the operating hours were cut October 1st as a result of library budget cuts. All volunteers were hard at work by 8:30AM, one and one half hours before the new opening time at 10:00 AM!
The Credit Union employees straightened and tidied shelves, while the Naval Hospital Corpsmen power washed the sidewalks and cleaned windows.
United Way celebrates ‘A Day of Caring’ annually to promote positive community stewardship in the Pensacola area.
Southwest Branch Library is at 12248 Gulf Beach Hwy at the corner of Bauer Rd across from Big Lagoon State Park.
