Girl Scouts Donate to SWB Library

Girl Scouts with Donated BooksGirl Scout Troop #221 of Escambia County coordinated a book drive and donated the books you see here to the Friends of the Southwest Branch Library to stock their Boutique and bargain carts. Troop Leader Heather Ondra’s car was filled with books as the girls proudly and excitedly delivered them last week. The troop consists of Brownies and Junior Scouts. Pictured here are the girls in front with library staff and the troop leaders. For information about The Girl Scouts contact Louise Carr at 850-375-4921

The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library is in desperate need of your gently used books, CD’s, DVD’s. Items are sold in the Boutique and on the bargain carts and help fund the library programs and activities at Southwest. SingerCurrently, the Friends of the Southwest Branch Library is funding the Summer Reading Program, held at Big Lagoon State Park Amphitheatre on Wednesdays at 10:30 AM. This year we have a singer, PSC Gymnasts, a magician and a cartoonist. A West Florida Public Library card gets you in free for an hour of fun, and education entertainment in one of the most beautiful environments in Perdido.
