After School Art

Escambia County After School Art students enjoyed a show of their art work at Artworks Studio & Gallery last week with family, friends and gallery artists. The program, in it’s 11th year, is given by local artists/teachers Talis Jayme and Lisa Mella Burridge and taught at Blue Angel, Hellen Caro Elementary Schools, and at Jim Bailey Middle School. Students of all ages as well as adults are invited to register each Fall to learn the basics of drawing and all mediums of art including watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and more for a nominal fee. Old River Optimist Club is a sponsor and the students created artwork for their charity golf tournament. Visit www.oldriveroptimistclub.org to view the art and read more about The Old River Optimists.
