The Friends of the Southwest Branch Library volunteered to greet Perdido area winter visitors at the Perdido Key Area Chamber of Commerce 2nd Annual Snowbird Roost at the Perdido Bay United Methodist Community Center Thursday.
Friends introduced many visitors to the Southwest Branch of the West Florida Public Library and it’s many benefits. Many returning long time visitors were happy to see the Friends again and complemented them on the library and how much they enjoy visiting. Friends volunteers Mary Jo McLean (Director of Volunteers), Cathy Ingram (Vice-President), Jim & Mary Ayers, Marianne Johnson, Nancy Stearns, and Beverly Johnson (Director of Book Sales) all hosted the Friends table. Boutique coupons, pens and pencils and WFPL flyers and FSWBL flyers were handed to visitors as they passed by the table. The Friends of the SWB Library also donated a raffle prize: a FSWBL Tote Bag containing gift quality books, pack of note cards, library and Friends flyers and various promotional goodies.
Photos of the festivities may be seen here.
Paul Pipes, chef extraordinarre at the Perdido Bay Methodist Church Community Center prepared a delicious lunch that served 197 for only $2 per person!
